Camp Counselor Host Home Interest Form
This summer, Camp All-American is looking for welcoming host homes for out-of-town counselors serving from May 18 through August 1. Each year, God brings incredible young leaders to serve at camp, many of whom travel from across the country to invest in the lives of our campers.
What it means to be a Host Home for CAA
Host home families are responsible to provide the following:
- A bed and sheets
- A bathroom and shower
- A reasonable level of privacy
- Communicate any home-specific details to the Counselor
Host home families are specifically NOT responsible for the following (unless host home families would like to provide meals or anything):
- Providing any meals to the Counselor
- Cleaning the space(s) used by the Counselor
- Doing the Counselor’s laundry
Counselors are responsible for the following:
- Communicate expected schedule (when you’ll be at the home)
- Maintain a clean, orderly, non-smelly bed and bath
- Your own laundry, towels included
- Your own food (and expense, thereof)
Counselors are specifically NOT responsible for the following:
- Caring for animals/plants/etc. in the home (unless mutually agreed)
- Babysitting for host home children (unless mutually agreed)
Beyond the Boundaries
Of course, host home families are more than welcome to go above and beyond these requirements. However, that should be the exception, rather than the rule.
Hosted Counselors should remember that they are held to a higher standard than every other team member. When it comes to the way that you represent CAA to these gracious families, the very security of your job with us is at stake. Ultimately, we are trusting you to live out the Vision, Mission and Values of CAA in your host home.
Happy to Help!
