It's Great To Be A C.I.T.!

Counselor-In-Training

The CAA Counselor-In-Training program is a leadership development opportunity for completed 9th, 10th, and 11th graders led by Camp All-American leadership and staff.

Students will be challenged to grow as leaders while developing the skills, knowledge, and Christ-like character for which CAA counselors are so well known.

This program is the perfect last step toward the CAA counselor position and learning what it means to work in the professional world!

The three-week session involves a unique development experience, engaging service hours for work blocks, and pertinent spiritual and professional training for their transitional stage of life. The session directly prepares the way for these students to walk into the counselor role at CAA as soon as they complete 12th grade. Successful completion of the three-week program as a completed 11th grader gives them the opportunity to be the first to interview for a counselor spot for the following summer as well as a higher starting pay than other starting counselors. Completion of this program does not guarantee they will be given a counselor position, as they must interview for it, and the decision made will be based on their performance during the session AND their interview.  All candidates for the counselor role must be 18 years of age prior to the summer that they are applying for.

Note: Completed 9th graders will be required to attend an interview session and completed 10th and 11th graders will be required to formally interview with the CIT Director or a member of our fulltime team. Completed 11th graders are not guaranteed a spot as it is a program that is applied for.
